Close your eyes. The hills of Harima fold gently around you, layered with bamboo groves and rice terraces.
You stand before Iwa Jinja — the head shrine of all Harima province.
Breathe in. The air carries the slight sweetness of mountain spring water.
This shrine is not loud. Its power is in its persistence.
Mythos
Ōnamuchi-no-Kami — once again, the patient earth-weaver — here venerated as the soft-spoken founder of Harima's harmony.
Legend says he stopped here to rest, and the surrounding land settled into peace simply by his presence.
Some leaders shout. Others change rooms by entering them.
Which kind have you been? Which kind do you want to be?
Iwa whispers: presence is the loudest power.
Sacred Resonance
Find the Iwayama — the sacred mountain behind the shrine. Look up at it.
The mountain does not need to declare itself. Its weight does that for it.
Let your own quiet weight settle into your shoulders. You do not need to announce who you are. The right people will feel it.
Tailwind Blessing
Bow. Clap twice — quiet and complete. Bow.
Leave. Step out onto the Harima country road, wind at your back.
The mountain wind arrives — Divine Tailwind, soft-spoken, persuasive.
Every breath is a presence felt without words.
Walk on, present one. Harima knows you came.

Etiquette
Bow once before passing under the torii
The torii marks the threshold between the everyday world and the sacred. A small bow acknowledges the crossing.
Purify at the temizuya (water pavilion)
Left hand, then right, then rinse your mouth from the left, then cleanse the handle. One ladle of water carries you through all four motions.
At the main hall: two bows, two claps, one bow
Deep bow twice, clap twice with intention, offer your silent greeting, then one final deep bow. No coin is required.
Leave quietly. Let the shrine follow you out
A pilgrimage does not end at the gate. The stillness travels with you.
